📏 MAP Sensor Rules (Apply to PD100 / PD130 / PD150)

  • Up to ~220 bhp3 bar is fine (PD130/PD150 have 3 bar stock).
  • GT1752 turbo can run on 3 bar.
  • GT1756 or larger4 bar required.
  • Any power target above ~220 bhp4 bar required.
🛠️ PD100 Tuning Breakdown

🔥 150 BHP Goal

Compulsory:

  • Healthy stock engine

Recommended:

  • Decat or straight-through exhaust
  • Front mount intercooler (FMIC)

180–200 BHP Goal

  • 3 bar MAP sensor
  • G60 single mass flywheel + VR6 clutch
  • PD150 head bolts (12.9 tensile)
  • PD150 turbo
  • PD130 520/550cc or PD150 550cc injectors
  • Front mount intercooler

220–240 BHP Goal

  • All items from previous goals
  • 4 bar MAP sensor (required above ~220 bhp)
  • Turbo options:
    • GT1752 → ~220–225 bhp (3 bar OK)
    • GT1756 → ~225–235 bhp (4 bar required)
    • GT1856 → ~235–250 bhp (4 bar required)
  • 2.5–2.75″ exhaust system

⚠️ Higher power can stress the PD100 bottom end — tune responsibly for reliability.

⚙️ PD130 Tuning Breakdown

🔥 180–190 BHP Goal

  • Stock turbo (GT1749VA)
  • Healthy MAF, N75, vacuum lines
  • Stock clutch is fine up to ~250 bhp
  • Install PD150 head bolts (12.9) when tuning for 180 bhp or higher
  • Decat & FMIC recommended

200–220 BHP Goal

  • Front mount intercooler
  • 3 bar MAP sensor is fine up to ~220 bhp
  • Turbo options:
    • PD150 turbo (GT1749VB) → ~200 bhp
    • GT1752 → ~220–225 bhp (3 bar OK)
    • GT1756 → ~225–235 bhp (4 bar required)
    • GT1856 → ~235–250 bhp (4 bar required)

250–280 BHP Goal

  • 4 bar MAP sensor (required for 1756+ or any target above ~220)
  • 2.5–3″ exhaust system
  • Upgraded FMIC & boost pipes
  • ASZ or ARL 550cc injectors minimum (not BLT or AVF/AWX)
  • GT1856 is the largest true bolt-on turbo for this setup
  • Above this power, GTB / GTD series turbos are required
  • For 260–280+ bhp, use Firad 80% or larger nozzles and a 272 camshaft
  • For 250+ bhp: a 6-paddle clutch mated with the stock Sachs dual mass flywheel is recommended
